When a former museum director and an auction house specialist of Old Masters and 19th century art moved into a cozy 1,200 square foot prewar apartment, they did so with a sprawling collection of art and books. JKA converted one of the bedrooms into a library, installing floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, picture lights, and anchoring the space with a graphic patterned rug.

Throughout the living room, dining room, and study, warm, neutral tones of grey and taupe compliment and highlight the couple’s extensive art collection. The result is an art and booklover’s fantasy brought to life; a private gallery and library under one roof.
